Louisville Equestrian Center Breaks Ground

In an exciting development for The Fork project, the Louisville Equestrian Center (LEC) broke ground February 10, 2009, on a new state-of-the-art $3.5 million facility. Located on 28 acres, .8 miles south of Taylorsville Road, and two miles south of the Gene Snyder Freeway, the LEC is scheduled to open in late spring or early summer of this year. Among the amenities it will include are 75-100 horse stalls, three indoor and two outdoor riding rings, working space for veterinarians and farriers, conference rooms and classrooms.

In a public-private partnership with 21st Century Parks, LEC clients will have access to 60 additional acres along the Floyds Fork corridor for open riding. Owned and operated by Betsy Webb, the only American Riding Association Level III certified instructor in Kentucky, the LEC will be the largest riding academy in the region, averaging 500 riding lessons per week. With horse boarding, riding camps, horse brokerage and trading, and corporate and social events, the LEC is a wonderful asset to the Fork project and a great new partner.
