21st Century Parks and Metro Parks agreed upon a five year operating and maintenance agreement for the Metro Parks properties...

...Miles Park, Floyds Fork Park, Tyler Schooling property and the King property. In addition, the agreement covers four smaller properties that will be included in the park. The agreement, approved by the Metro Council and signed by the Mayor, is automatically renewed every five years unless Metro Council or 21st Century Parks terminates the agreement. In combination with this operating and maintenance agreement, the City imposed a deed restriction to the city owned properties held within The Fork to be irrevocably dedicated and committed as property for public park purposes. No development or construction shall occur on the property except for public and other recreational park purposes and park-related uses.

This public private partnership is unique among public parks projects around the country. This unique partnership allows 21st Century Parks through private funds to include these public properties in the world-class design and management of The Fork.
