Park Development in 2009
Our future plans include rapid development of park improvements, and some additional land acquisition. Following our federal environmental review, we will begin construction plans for a Pilot Project to be announced in late 2009. Also in 2009, we will begin construction documents for Phase I. Assuming no delays, we could break ground in 2010. As the project progresses, the infrastructure of the organization is growing as well. In 2008, 21st Century Parks added a Director of Development, Ms. Christen Boone, formerly of Actors Theatre. In 2009, the organization will hire a Park Operations Director, whose responsibilities will include oversight of recreational programming, and operations and maintenance.
